On Sunday, September 26, Urdu Foundation of North America--I have to find out how and when Urdu Academy of North America changed its name to Urdu Foundation--held a mushaira at the Chandni Restaurant in Newark. Prominent Bay Area poet Tashi Zaheer's book, Sham ki Aahat, was released at the event.

Thank you so very much for giving it space in your blog. Just one correction please;
Urdu Foundation of North America is a relatively new organization but, independent of Urdu Academy of North America. It is in the process of being properly registered and becoming a 501-C (non-profit) organization. Azizi Ahmer Shahwar is the President of this organization and Mr. Naseem Garogh from Maryland is one of the other directors. This mushaira was organized by Urdu Foundation of N.A. with full support from the members of Urdu Academy of N.A.
The primary focus and the approach of the two organization is vastly different while the objective is basically the same i.e., promotion of Urdu language and literature.
It is my pleasure to introduce two of you to each other, if it is already happened.
