A literary second-hand smoke for the audience

Had a very good conversation with Ahmed Faraz Sahib today. He is visiting the Bay Area and is staying at Annie Akhter's place. Annie wanted us to talk only about Urdu poetry, but there is so much political commotion in the Pakistan these days it was hard to talk about anything but politics.

Great Wall at Mutianyu, from a distance

Visited Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. It is far outside Beijing and you don’t see as many tourists as you see at Badaling. But even Mutianyu has cable cars to take you up and bring back. Besides walking down the other option is to take a toboggan ride.
